How to prepare artwork for DTF printing

Supply a PNG with a transparent background at 300 DPI at the exact size you want printed. Avoid semi-transparent pixels (soft shadows, glows, low-opacity layers): DTF prints them as faded or speckled. Keep fine lines at least 0.5 mm thick and text at least 6 pt.

Resolution

300 DPI at print size is the target. A 25 cm wide print needs about 2950 pixels across. Enlarging a small image makes edges blocky; the builder warns you when that will happen.

Transparency

DTF prints a white layer under your colours. Anything partly transparent gets a partial white layer and looks washed out. Remove backgrounds completely and flatten soft effects.

File types

PNG is best. SVG, PDF and AI are accepted and converted at full resolution. JPG works for artwork with a solid rectangular background you want printed.

Colours

Files are printed as supplied. Very dark navy and black can look similar on dark garments; add contrast if it matters.
